Where do I get a throttle cable?

I have also phoned 3 scrap yards (only ones local) and they all say they dont have any Novas!!

i got rid of a nova yesterday in the neath area!
um..... where are you from?
try bishops scrap yard in clydach, near swansea, i know they have a nova there, was there about a week ago

When mine went on my old Nova i went to my Vauxhall dealership and they ordered me one in?? Cost me ?17 i think?? or ?37 lol Cant remember

Well thats crazy, ive phoned 5 motor factors, halfrauds, 3 scrap yards, and they all come back with blanks!

I went into my local vauxhall place and asked the corpse behind the parts counter for a 14sr nova throttle cable and he just looked at me stupid, messed about on the computer for a few minutes before saying they dont stock them and he doesnt think he can order them in a realy stupid unprofessional way, by then I had to leave before I killed him.

There is only one on ebay and the guy hasnt got back to me yet,

It snapped last night in teh dark and rain ofco****, so I had to cut all the outer casing off the cable and butcher it on using electrical connectors and tie-wrapping the cable casing to my strut brace, got me home though,

Luckily I stock tie wraps, electrical connectors, torch, screwdrivers, scissors, pliers and loads of other tools in my passenger door space!! lol waiting for the inevitable

if your nova is injection i think corsa one will fit but not 100% sure
you should be able to get a nova cable from dixon vaux spares tel 01132 880022 they do mail order an take plastic

yes mate they do vaux an ford( if u click on the now breaking pics there are loads of vauxs) they should be able to sell you a used throttle cable.

if not try auto vaux 01924 376003 for a new cable

I phoned dixons and they said they dont do throttle cables and phoned the auto vaux place and they said they need some time to look into them because they think they have been discontinued,

I have seen that one on ebay and have emailed the guy twice but with no response I need one sooner than later and it doesnt finish for 7 days,

How can it be so hard to get a stupid cable!!

Right just phoned auto vaux back and he said they cant get one he has even phoned the discontinued parts guy and he cant even get one.

So if anyone knows of any motor factors who has them how about ordering me one and I will send them the cash for it + some beer tokens?

what engined nova is it for ?

It is for a 1600 but the engine I have were not put into novas but basically they are the same as a 1400sr engine just 1600 displacement same running gear, The cable doesnt even need to be off a 14sr just a nova with a pierburg carb.

Would'nt a Corsa SRi 1.4 8v one work? It might be worth checking to see if that has'nt been discontinued as I'm having the same problem at the moment.

The 8 valve crosa sri one is better to use on a nova sport then a pierburg carb as the end is different to what you'll be needing. Trust me as I have both in my possesion!
