To cut a long story short, the 1.2i Nova my GF has developed a problem where it would cut out intermittantly. Give it 30mins to sit there and it would start (sometimes!). RAC guy said it was a problem with the distributor's Hall switch/sensor. He gave it a tap and it all worked fine.

So can I just replaced the Hall switch/sensor thing or do I have to replace the entire distributor?

Since the problem started I have replaced the Fuel Pump Relay, Coil, Ingition Amplifier, fuel filter, and the leads, plugs, dizzy cap and rotor arm and battery are all 6 months old.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

Entire distributor, dont think you can just replace the hall sensor.
That should sort your problem tho if you've already replaced coil etc.

carbed/spi nova's notorius (sp?) for dizzy going faulty. Would reckon most nova's in a scrappy will have the same prob. I bought an entire 3 month old cav black cap dizzy, even at that it cost me ?70. Also i've never heard of anyone sucuessfully repairing a nova dizzy.
