STOP SHOUTING

its all depends on what size boxes you have

i had 1x15" and 4x12 (somebody will find a picture as i don't have one) i blew out 3 rear windows on volume 60 my head unit went to 100, not really that distorted ether

Depends on how it is configured, total air space for the subs to use and the type of music you play.

IMO your going for overkill, I use a single 10 as I tend to listen to more rocky, real instrument orientated stuff.
12's are better for lower synth bass found in house, trance, garage etc.

15's will flap like mad, I wouldn't touch them unless your willing to lose everything from the front seats back for 1 sub.

Bass is omnidirectional so having 2 subs won't really make any difference.

you want to keep subs all the same size, otherwise it will sounds ****...

due to the way the different subs move, they will be fighting for the air....

the hole back seats are going and the box for the subs goes all the way to the roof of the car, and it goes all the way to the boot ,,ive decided im having two 12inch subs 1400watt rms and 1 15inch sub 2400watt rms and to power them ive got 4 cruch thousend watt amps , 3 fared power cap wagon battary .for the treble and stuff ive got componants 200watt rms and all running of sony head unit

I've got one single 10" JL sub in a box specifically designed for that sub. Sounds better than my two 12" Sony subs...

Remember quality is better than quantity - spending ?500 on 5 subs, plus amps to power them, could easily be outclassed by spending ?500 on one or two decent subs and amp.

Imagine, if you will, a Sony car audio showroom. Bolted inside a Nova. There you go. lol

They may be top of the Audiobahn range, but bear in mind top of the Audiobahn range could be equivalent to mid range JL stuff, for example...

Subect close to my interest at the moment -subs.....I,ve been running a vibe black air 10 for 2 years and I,m still stunned ...recently i,ve powered the front dashers ( magnavox 150watters) and pioneer 6x9s ( 240 watters ) with a 600watt peak amp ,and a pioneer equilizer...sounds a boomer ...till a mate at work sold me a boxed pair of subs ( 10,s -I tihnk ) with a neon lit interior for ?20. I,m gonna run em on a 480, 2 channel amp and pop the vibe in storage.....the moral of this tale ?
i just wish the bloke on bluddy ebay would stop cracking one off and send me the damn amp !
i reckon this new sub i,ve aquired is a real cheapie.....i tell you the outcome later...

I had a 12" kicker l7 750wrms solo baric run by a lanzar 800wrms amp, Until some thieving c**t stole it last tuesday!

It sounded loud as well as very good quality my mate has 3 of those xplods in his car and honestly it sounded naff compared to my kicker,

tbh "long live" , I would get rid of those xplods they are not very loud and not very good quality, get some kickers in there while your doing it get it done properly so you wont want to change subs 5 minutes down the road,

And LOOK how much weight your adding got to be half a second 0-60!!! :thumb:

I've noticed that a lot of people dont really seem to like Audiobahn stuff, we did our demo car with 2 x 15" eternal subs and there top end 3 way component kit, and a 8v equaliser and the system sounds the dogs! it can hit really hard if ya want to impress but at the turn of a knob you can have a system that sounds really clear and has great depth.

I can understand why people love JL though its our biggest selling product along with Alpine.

the audiobahn subs that im getting are the immortal ones and i know what your sayin about how people are not that really into audiobahn on this site but allot of show cars have been fully kitted out with audiobahn subs amps etc etc and ive heard a few of them and they sound really really good and dead clear when crancked up ear cracking clear and WELL BASSY

ok.I said I,d let you know.....i removed the vibe 10 , popped the 2x10 cabinet in , with both amps screwed to the top. The amp to power the 6x9s and dash speakers is at 600w peak ...the amp for the sub 480w peak to push the cabinets 2 10 inchers. The phono on the back of my stereo -jvc head unit has only one out , so i split it one for sub ,one for internal speaker amp. This set up worked fine with the vibe , but resulted in a very annoying hum from the replacement sub. The subs amp has a speaker input volume dial , even at the lowest point it hums and the power drops ? I think maybe the 10inchers in the cabinet are as cheap as I first thought and cannot handle the signal power the 480 watt amp slings out......
vibe has now been safely returned to the boot of my nova - the cabinet will soon be on ebay , keeping the amp for another motor........

learn the hard way -a bargain sometimes aint worth it.

One of my mates had a 12inch jlw6 in a custom box running off a mono block rockford amp in his golf mk4 and that was very powerful and clear. Just goes to show you get what you pay for

Seems there was something wrong with the amp ( clever younger brother checked it out - then fixed it - wizard at electrics ) so hopefully tomorrow i,ll give it another try .......

Dont get me wrong i aint saying they are better just that they aren't as bad as what is being made out. I had a JL W6 in my old 205 with a 1800d jl amp and it was awesome!
