To put the gsi rear seats in do you have to weld in a bracket in the middle to hold the bigger piece as the brackets are only there to hold the one piece rear bench or is there any other way round it??

ye u need to weld the bracket in else there is nothing holding the seats in an they flop about, i had that problem in my 1.2!!
You do ye to support the seats right.
I dont have the bracket fitted in mine tho, just means your seat can fall off like the seat part of the floor. Lol

yeah there is. just join the seat together. so its like the old bench that doesnt split in two.
I have SRi seats in my 5 door, they SHOULD have a catch to secure them at the bottom, but I dont and they are only supported by the parcel shelf at the moment.....The bigger problem I had was with the bottom section of the rear bench as it wouldn't fit in a 5 door. But thats another story, involving unpicking and sewing machine skills....

i screwed my ones in mate works a treat just a self tapper in the corner of the loop and put the gray cover over it and the one fir the back seats i removed from the sr the seats came from and bolted it down as the is a threaded bit there to put s screw into works a treat
I managed to fit read 1/4 into my 1.2 using an old fence bracket folded round to hold the 2 centre pags together then bolted the other end into the wheel arch. Worked a treat and they folded independantly too!
I posted a pic of this ages ago...
