is it true that if you use a 1.3 crank and pistons in the 1.2 block it becomes a 1.4? :tard:

1.2 stroke and 1.3 bore = 1395cc, starting witha 1.2 you only need the 1.3 pistons and a good boring out.

is it worth doing?

boring out that far is a bit iffy though as it will take the engine way out of square etc.

imo no, unless your deliberately trying to be a jooo and keep it registered and taxed as a 1.2...

I did it back in the olden days of the late 80's, It was available as a kit from PMC (of Tamworth)
TO be usable on the road the 1200 pistons needed a dish machining in them, but everything else worked & fitted really well. 1300 crank + rods, rebored block, 1300 head, 1200 gasket. mine was built up using a 1200 merit carb & 1300 exhaust, the base car was a 1200 4 speed, it did 0-60 in sub 10 seconds & showed 115mph on the speedo. it also returned about 35mpg.
If you are rebuilding a 1300 then it is well worth it, the low end torque & driveability is brilliant. Mine did 50000miles in 3 different cars then I sold it to fit a 1600

How much does it cost to get the boring out done?
