Is it worth fitting twin 40's to a standard Xe or will it demand bigger carbs? I know that this set up has been used but unsure if any gains have been had from it.
My engine needs rebuilding and i'm just thinking of fitting a 2.0xe with t 40's.
Cheers Nathan
40s will work on a Xe yeah.
Should be fine.
But if your going for big power then 45s are better.

personally i would go for 45's
austin did this years ago. He gained no peak power, but gained a shed load of low down torque
I know someone who had t40's on his gte 16v, produced 173bhp, so i bought all the bits off him, ended up selling them seperatley, i've still got the XE carb manifold & rubber o rings for t40's.
Just use shorter trumpets for a gain higher up the rev range
