I'm after removing the lock from my tailgate to make it look flush. My central locking is already hooked up to the tailgate, so it already locks and unlocks. What can I use to pop the boot open? The ideal solution would be a button on the dash which, once the car is unlocked, I can then press to open the boot. I'll own up to the fact that I don't own a Nova, its for a Mk3 Astra. My last car was a Nova though!
Cheers!

a solenoid which would pop the boot is what i've been told to do for my doors and i bet it will work for the boot aswell. The button on the dash sounds like the best idea but maybe someone else can give you more detail on what exactly you need to buy to get it working... also try www.topbuzz.com
Atleast its a Vaux and you've had a Nova so its not that bad :D
u want a slave solenoid with just the two wires, earth one and run the other to the dash and pick up an ignition live.i removed my cig lighter and put a push to make button in.
the slave solenoid has onlt two wires instead of 5 as the master,it comes with a mountin plate and just fit it inline with the catch, its well easy and shouldnt be a problem although i havent perfected mine poping open enough off the rubber
good luck
check out novamad.co.uk - full details of delocking - also link to another site (Marks DIY ICE pages) give full details in pics

oh now, that is interesting!
escort/fiesta soleniod will do the job, they also have a neat little switch with the boot open symbol on. if you go to scrappies to get one take note as to how it is fitted, this will help you adapt it to suit.
