Anyone got any good tips for de-coking spark plugs, aside from sitting there with a tiny screw driver scraping it off?
Cheers me dears

I find a light scrub with a wire brush does the trick.
Sometimes i surprise myself just how thick i am.
Cheers mate
I find walking into my nearest motor factors and buying a new set works quite well, they give me ones that look really new.

Thats all very well if your plugs are getting coked up every few months or so, but mine are coking up quicker than you can say 'missfire'
Yes i know i need a tuneup, but i need money first, and if i keep buying spark plugs ill never be able to afford it lol
wire wool are works quite well too
get out the slaptop, select the fuel map and drop it all down by a few % lol
If things are really desparate, then used mr muscle oven cleaner. the ****e in ovens is mostly carbon. I once got a cyh head shining with some.
Cillit bang!
'Look how it gets the spark plug! Good as new!!'
using a caustic soda based cleaner does work, and it doesn't involve using a wire brush or a pointy object which could damage the plug. don't knock something if you have never tried it.
on the contrary mate, i wasnt knocking it, rekon its a good idea!

sandpaper
I reckon a bit of steel wool, it won't be putting as much strain on the plug as a wire brush will, sandpaper might be a bit too corse. Not sure about using any chemicals as i've never tried this, but giving it a go might be a good idea
