blowing fuse!!!

every time i wire in my head unit the fuse for the dash blows/alarm?

i cant see any touching wires, dont have an amp or sub just standard speakers and its not hard-wired.........what could it be, its annoying not having a rev counter, petrol gauge and that stuff.........cheers

maybe bad/faulty wiring? Bad earth? Dodgey HU perhaps.

Maybe a case of removing the HU and checking all the speaker wires and HU wiring.

are the wiring loom original or has it been cut and chopped?

Have to ask... Got the right fuse in there? :p

Where does the HU pull power from? Has it not got its own direct independent supply?

If it's on the original wiring then it should pull from pos 1 of the ignition switch, which also runs the dash. should ba on a 20 amp fuse.

20, yeah. ive wired it into the original supply

Give it its own independent supply, direct (but fused) from the battery.
