just a bit of advise needed, for my track car i have a choise of 2 sets of brakes, V6 288mm setup with calipers of a Vectra GSi or 256mm ATE setup with 16 valve calipers. I test fitted the V6 discs today, and the holes were way off, the discs bell was also too big, where as the 256mm discs go straight on. So i was thinking either sell the V6 setup and buy some cross drilled and grooved 256mm discs with mintex m1144 pads with the 16valve calipers, or maby the V6 calipers, or possible purchase some converted 288mm 4 stud discs that fit well. Were can i get these from? I also ask myself the question do i really need 288mm V6 brakes or are they overkill for a car with approx 150bhp and f**k all wieght in it???

You need spigot rings to fit 288 discs to a nova hub.
You also need to get the discs redrilled as they are 5stud.
Or you can get some discs off i think its a Fiat Coupe, not 100% sure tho.

Imo, 256 will probably do the job fine, plus they weigh less and it costs less to replace discs and pads.

fair point with the 256mm costings as they will get hammered on track days. These V6 discs look a bit of a ball bag to re-drill!!

Get an engineering place to do them for you.
You will also have to buy spigot rings to fit the 288s.

I'm assuming your car is stripped, how much does it weigh now and is it a single person track car or a road car? I'd say 256s are fine for your 150bhp. I think its a case of whack them on and see; Long Live The Nova is right that they are cheap, so if they don't work out, it will not be as if you have wasted lots of money.

id go 256mm... they stop well and drop the unsprung mass and lower the intertia needed to spin the wheels etc..

also if your trak daying it get a set of Mintex M1155's or ferodo DS2500's.. the 1144's will die fairly quick of yoru being abusive.

I redrilled mine there dead easy to do. PM j1400 he used to sell the correct sprigot rings cheap as well.
