My car got broken into last night, the C*nts screwdrivered the door lock and stole my kicker sub and my amp, Not very happy, the ****ty cops just gave me a crime number as helpful as ever!

The funny thing is my car wasnt parked at home last night I was in my brothers in Clifton! posh part of bristol!

Will I be covered on third party fire and theft? any tips on what to say to the insurance?

Cheers

Best to look through your paperwork and see what level of cover you have for audio equipment - some places usually only provide ?50-100, although tbh its not really worth claiming and loosing your NCB. You may find they write the car off if there's any damage to the door or lock!

Still at least you reported it - if nothing else it screws up the local plod's statistics and makes them look crap ;)

So if I claim due to theft even though the car was locked etc, I still loose my no claims?

Good job I had my disklok on or the car would have been gone!

As far as I'm aware, yep. (If the car was unlocked or suchlike, they'd probably refuse to pay out as it they would consider you'd not taken precaution to protect your car, again thats another clause which is usually buried in the small print!)

If you have protected NCB then that would cover it, but usually that only counts to the company you're with (its guaranteed NCB that lets you bring your NCB to another company).

They might even get funny saying you should have declared the audio equipment! :(

Just phoned them and they said if I claim I will loose my no-claims as you said so I am pretty F*cked then, I just hope my sub comes up for sale on ebay, if it does they are as good as dead.

if your no claims if protected you wont lose it. But to be honest you'll end up paying just as much in excess. get on ebay and get a replacement lock (or better still get central locking if not fitted already and delock doors) and whilst youre on there look about for replacement amp/sub (or keep a look out down the local market for your stuff).

Good advice but I think I will never see it again, I only got rid of my old ****ty one a few week ago and got my new now stolen one, a kicker l7 solobaric and a lanzar competition amp  , cost over ?400!!

My car was parked at my brothers in clifton, bristol and I live in Wales my car has never been touched where I live, they screwdrivered my door lock and made a bit of a mess of it aswel it still works though,

tbh I dont want to go to all the trouble of delocking doors etc they will just break the window then *****ng bastar*s,

The cops phoned me up and asked me if they left anything and the usual questions not much they can do though they said that car crime in bristol has gone mad.

I wouldn't put ICE anywhere near my car if i didn't have an alarm fitted.

how many times does it have to be said, no point in ?500 worth of ICE spend ?50 on an alarm first! don't even have to be a top brand as long as its got current sensing and ultrasonics it will do!

oh and CCTV
