hia just wondering is it worth putting a 2.0 8v engine in a nova gsi?what do they go like?and what would be needed to put one in?been told that standard gsi drive shafts etc are fine for putting one in?
thanks.
You cant use the std shafts/cvs.
You need to do the same as with a xe, cav inner cvs, 22spline shafts etc.
If you use the cav 130bhp engine, it should go pretty well.
Same work to fit an xe tho.

^^^ yep just as much work as an xe but the seh's are a lot cheaper to get hold of.

ok thanks lads, what kinda bhp is an xe?about 140-150?thats why i wanted an 8v as there are loads down the scrappy near me and they are alot cheaper.
thanks.
150bhp as standard XEs are.
The SEH 2L 8v is 130bhp, with the c20ne(i think it is) about 115bhp.

thanks mate i might go for a 2.0 8v then
thanks.
I wouldn't bother with a C20NE, only 15bhp up on a standard C16SE GSi lump, and probably weighs more and will cost to put it in. Find a 20SEH from a 1988-1991/2 Cavalier mk3. This engine was also used in the mk2 Cav SRi 130/Calibre but these are a bit thin on the ground (round my way anyway!)
