Hi i have recently made the decision to change my engine from 1.2spi to any carb engine really so i can fit twin webbers or t40's or something along those lines, so to start of, do i have to change the tank? or could i just regulate the pressure somehow? another problem is mounts, do i need different mounts? drive shafts? could i have as much information as possible please, i could do the conversion with help but need a bit more info as it will be the first time for me on a nova althought i have experience, please give me info as need it bad the spi engine is spag! thank you:thumb:

Same mounts, same driveshafts.

You could use the electronic spi pump with a fuel pressure regulator.

What engine are you fitting?

Also another problem for me is looms! not my favourite job! so im looking for a 1.3/1.4 sr engine (which ever one fit t40's!) really but i have the mk2 clocks (3 anolouge and 1 place with lights), also would i have to change the coil or dizzy?

but if i got a fuel pump with the engine would it be worth just using that? and how would i regulate the pressure? also thanks for helpin!

I dont think the mechanical pump would work, as the fuel out from the tank goes through the SPI pump.
So i doubt the mech pump will be able work right.

You need an adjustable pressure regulator.

Use the coil/dizzy you get with the engine.

ok doesnt sound too bad, how hard would it be to fit t40's to the engine? and also i seen a 1.4 sri engine for sale will the t40's fit that?

Yep.
WIth a gte/gsi twin 40 inlet.
A SRI engine will give best results for a 1.4 on t40s, due to bigger valves etc.

sounds even better failing that theres a bloke sellin a c20xe with nova shafts and mounts on ebay who lives near me but id rather go with something smaller to start with thanks for all the info, is there anything else you would recomend?

Ye, i would recommend getting the twin 40s set up correctly.
After any other mods have been done to the engine, aftermarket cam etc.
