Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone could help me out, im hoping to paint my rear lights the same colour as my Car as ive seen this done and its a realy nice look. Just wondering what do i do with the paint??

Would i have to add extra thinners to make the light shine though??

Do they have to be primmed??

Are there any legal issue's, MOT etc.. ?

Any help would be greatly appriciated.. Pic's would be well recieved too (havent seen it done to a nova)

Thanks

Should think its illegal to be honest, but as long as the bulbs flash the right colours, & u mount some reflectors to the body then should be ok. BoredBloke done this to his Nova a while ago PM him.

think its done by using a little bit of paint and loads of laquer

you have to really lightly dust the paint on,use an adhesion promoter, this will help the paint stick, then dust the paint on,then lacquer it,

its a combination of thin dusting of paint then lacquer to build up an opaque transparent layer.

You cant really do it with cans - pro body shop can do it.

Looks good in shows but youre guaranteed the policy will pull you.

It reduces the effectiveness of your rear lights by 40% odd (depending on paint colour) - so unless you want someone rear ending you Id avoid.

yer i seen a few corsas round my way with it done, one was a sort of baby blue and the other was red. looked alright, be cool for shows i suppose.
