another Q,what cam shaft would fit my A reg,its an sr head on a 1.2 bottom end!
i heard that the GTE would fit,i think mine is a slot drive if that helps!
is this true

1.4 sr, if you want a standard gm cam

in all fairness you should ahve stuck with the 1.2 head as its the "best" of the 1.2-1.4 carb options.

so what would happen if i re fitted the 1.2 cam,kept the 1.3 sr head with the carb and inlet,and still have the 1.2 bottom end

You wouldn't gain much I'd think, as the 1.3 head will lower the compression ratio a little, but the carb will make up for that.

1.3Sr cam is better than a 1.2 cam.

You would be better with a 1.2 head, and a 1.3sr cam(same dizzy drive as 1.2)
