View Full Version : 2.0 brakes, bigger master cylinder??
Hello all, i fitted my 2.0 brakes calipers, discs pads etc but i could not get a pedal no matter what bled the brakes over and over again even swapped my master cylinder incase the seals inverted but a mechanic i know seems to think that you need a bigger master cylinder to cope with the 2.0 brakes because the pistons are 7-9mm bigger, has anyone ver came across this when upgrading?? i can get a slight pedal but nothing really, is there a bigger master cylinder off a 2.0 cavi or??? cheers
its not vital. just make sure you got the calipers on the right side (nipple at the top) and that the seals arent inverted... lots of people get on fine with the std MC with the 2.0 brakes
fuk! i think i had the capipers on the wrong way becasue the niupples were at the bottom, why do they do this if they are on the wrong side?? cheers
not a clue why its like that,
im running the small servo on mine, and they are fine
If the nipples are on the bottom, no air will bleed out the system, just fluid will come out.
With them on correctly air rises to the top of the cylinder and out the bleed nipple.
You will never be able to bleed them with them on upside down.
Swap them round, i bet you it sorts your problem ;)

Its not unusual if you bleed them with a spanner & a mate (pedalman) you cant get fluid through the calipers. You need a pressure bleed kit.
1000's of Novas run 2.0 & V6 brakes on std master cylinders.
