is the 1.3sr cam shaft the same as the 1.2 cam shaft,because some1 said to me that the onlt differance from the 1.3 head and the 1.2 head was the size of the ports ,is this info true!

Depends which 1.2 head you're comparing it to, 1.2 and 1.3 carb are the same, 1.2i is plain crap. the 1.3 cam has slightly more inlet lift than the 1.2 version.

so how much differance would it make if i put the 1.2 cam shaft onto the 1.3 ports!or should i just hold on and get the 1.3 csm shaft to go with it

right i got a 1.2 carb nova,wanna put the whole 1.3sr head on it but the man hasnt givin me the cam with it and it doesnt look like i will be getting it so i was just wondering if i should wait and see if the man actually does have it or just use the 1.2 cam

the 1.3 head might actually lose you power since its CR might not be the same.. also the 1.2 carb head had better flow as std compared to the 1.3 version...

Leave the 1.2 head on.
Fit a 1.4SR camshaft for greatest gain from a std cam.

When fitting a GTE/GSi cam to something like a 1.2i, the gain is about 6-8bhp.
So you should get about 5ish with a 1.3 cam.

Long Live The Nova is correct, the 1.4 cam is better. It has the highest lift out off all the std cams and the best duration, have a look at the cam specs in the haynes manual.

Doesn't have to be out of an sr either, just any 1.4
