steering wheel boss kit, stupit question

ive had my boss kit on my nova for over a year now, ive just gone to take it off, the nut undoes easily but it wont come off??? what is keeping it on?

spring loaded, give it a shake, if i dont move shake harder ;)

the steering doesnt have to be straight or anything does it?

best to make sure its straigh befor you take it off, makes life easyer when you put a new one on
