View Full Version : wheels to fit astra gsi brakes?!?hi

hi,
recently purchased a nova gte fitted with astra gsi grooved and vented front discs and calipers. tried to fit the standard gte nova alloys to the car and they dont quite fit over the calipers...
the astra gte/gsi wheels are 14" and so are the nova gte/gsi wheels, would the car run fine with astra gte or gsi wheels?

The astra wheels will clear no problems, in fact most 14" will clear them. Unfortunatly just the nova alloys won't.
(statement to cover my own back, Calipers can be ground to fit, a la Burgo, or you can use spacers to get them to fit. personally i'm not a fan of either of these methods.)

15" alloys will fit , or 14" steels will also fit over. gsi brakes are cool they work way better than standerd nova brakes. also try fitting a nova gsi brake servo for better brakeing as well

No difference at all, the GTE/GSI were the biggest fitted. Also all of the master cylanders (sp) are the same.

the servo does FA for the braking ability of the car (unless your too feeble to press the std pedal down anyway....)

I think i read somewhere that a 14 inch wheel with a 5.5J width wheel is the smallest you can use with the ATE calipers. Maybe its BS i would of thought the nova GTE/GSI wheel is atleast 5.5J?

The Nova GTE/GSI wheels are 5J. If you want 5.5J grab some of an Astra or Cav.
