Turn the key....nothing happens

Havent been able to start my nova. its is a the 1600sv engine. Ive tried changing the battery, earths, ignition switch and nothing has made a difference.

when the key is turned theres no sound at all, at first there was click of the starter but now nothing. so before i go out and get a new starter motor any ideas as to what else it could be?

"tap" the starter with a hammer. see if that free's it up. they can stick sometimes..

just tried the hammer method lol, made it turn over about once so im guessing it is the starter motor at fault. cheers

i had a problem like this on a astra mk2 and it turned out to be the started motor, but it could also be connections on the starter motor but most probably a faulty starter motor as i heard this is a common fault on novas

i had this problem and i found out it was the iginition switch changed it and it was fine are you sure you have checked it they are only about 9quid anyway
