respraying alloys

Noticed whilst trawling through past archives a nice set of gold SR 3 spoke wheels.
I have SR wheels but have been curbed to buggery and had v dodgy respray by prev owner. Anyone oot there got advice on best way to clean up and a good paint to recommend? Going for silver (or possibly met black). Don't really want to get rid of as look ok on car and tyres are v good.

Try wire wool m8 that'll shine em up a bit, dunno if u should spray em tho, they wont rust coz they r alu

mine have rust bubbling through on the back wheels, gonna strip em and paint em soon

the stuff they sell in halfords is fine.... bit darker than the std sliver
