Sure its the pump and not the relay?

What pump are you using now?
A Nova GSi/SRi/Gte one?

Is it a in-tank pump?

If so, one from a corsa SRi/GSi/Sport, mk3 astra MPI, mk3 cav mpi will fit too.

what about mine? Mines not in the tank, so what pump do I have?

Probably an external GSI/SRi/Gte one.
Look underneath by the fuel tank, you should see the pump.

Sounds like mines blown up too, which is strange as it was fine last week. did run out of fuel nearly though-if that has anything to do with it? any markings on the pump to identify? if its gone which pump should I replace it with?

Cheers

Another from a GSi/SRi/Gte.
Assuming thats the pump you have fitted.

If you can hear it buzzing tho, its working.
They normally whine when they are dieing.

If you ran out of fuel, you might need to turn the ignition on and off a few times, to prime the engine.

if you have an external pump you can use one off a Gav GSI

Ive tried to start it for abt 20 times! & it started once, n then went off, then it wont start again!

Technically speaking just about any external multipoint injection fuel pump will work - there all much of a muchness - even no GM parts will probly do as long as they have same diameter in and out so u dont have to mess around swapping lines.
As for 2lBax's problem, tuning the ign on and off wont help as the GM systems dont prime, they only kick in on cranking. so if ur batterys good just keep crankning for as long as u can. if that fails try the relay as even if the pump is getting a signal from it, the ecu may not be and that can cause non starting
