Looked worse that it was.
I managed to bend it back:

after the 3rd party finally admited liabilty i wait for the engineer/valuater to
call - he just did.

Understandably its written off i was expceting that - but they have the nerve to try and tell me its CAT B - meaning no buy back as salvage option.

Coupled to that complete boolacks, is the additional pile of steaming manure of a price valuation - ?150.. ?150!!!!!! WTF?? thats a f-ing glasses guide trade in price - not a book value for replacement.
and this is MY insurers estimates.

I asked if i could get it independently inspected to ensure at Cat B was a fair assesment (as it clealrly isnt accurate) but they say their decision is final and want to arrange to collect it!

TOSS BAGS.

wish id kept the sri shell now - id have swapped over the identitys.

any advice?

when they come and pick it up, hide the car around the coner, say its been nicked, when they gone, strip it, and scrap the shell lol

Do they cover engine conversions?

technically no - but i didnt give them the option - it was cover or loose me as a valued customer. they got there moneys worth anyway - the policy cost more than the value of the car as i agreed that allthough the car was covered with mods, only standard items would get replaced if stolen/damaged.

just go look for another shell then, you should get one for few hundred quid, refuse their offer! They will always make another one or two offers

They will make you an offer to settle the claim, which is the ?150 so you say No that you think the car will cost more than that to replace then they have to make you another offer which they almost certainly will. And refuse it agin if you want tell them that you will prove the cost of the car by printing off aload of for sale adds for similar novas off the autotrader.

When I had a car written off this is what my insurance company told me to do, I refused the first offer and accepted the second which was about ?750 higher!

Remember you need proof of cars that have SOLD, not ones that were/are for sale. Printed ads won't cut it as they're not proof the car sold for the amount advertised.

I had a rear end shunt in mine courtesy of a 106. Needed new rear bumper (Abyss), near rear panel and boot floor pulling out a little bit. Total cost of repairs - ?750; now bear in mind that was on a J reg 1.2 with a bodykit! And the other insurers (CIS) paid up. I was told by a guy who works in insurance that they didn't have the authorisation to write the car off though as it wasn't them who insured it
