De-locking

I dont drive as yet but I'm looking into what I can do to a 1.3SR (thats all I'll be able to afford to insure).
I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me about how to go about de-locking a Nova.

Has any one done this that can help me?

simple enough to do.

1. Remove lock barrel.
2. Weld metal plate inside hole to cover it.
3. Get some filler and fill the hole from the outside.
4. Sand it and smooth it up.
5. Respray door in desired area.
6. DO NOT forget to have remote central locking before doing stages 1-5.

i realised when i got to the end but couldn't be bothered to alter all the numbers.
