Heater Control Knobs-all mk2 owners read this!

I've asked someone to make up some prototype stainless or alloy heater control knobs and headlamp switches for mk2 dashboard..... They will be round, with a flat or domed top and a knurled edge. They can be engraved or left blank.

I am definitely having a set, but they will cost less if I order a few sets, hence this post. Would anybody be interested?

Please post on this thread if you are, and give me an idea and then I can get a price for a few sets.

Hi mate!!! Very interested in all of the knobs you mentioned, how much will they cost? And any chance you can get 1 made for me to have a look at (post up a pic) i would like 16v ingraved in them or some thing like that

I'd be interested but I'm more interested how they will stay on the studs that you turn. The OE plastic knobs have a plastic catch that relies on inherent flex in the plastic to catch on the studs & clip in place. How will alloy do this?

My CNC buddy has that brob to deal with. I assume that he will fix the to the existing switches, making them on an exchange basis.

The price mentioned up to now (if I can get enough interest) is ?30 for all 4 but the price will go down if I can get more than 10 sets sold.

Obviously, it would be ideal to post pics up of them made, but I need an idea of interest, or I may as well pay a bit more and have an "exclusive" part and not let anybody else have them. I will post pics as soon as I get them.

Last year I had some strut braces made, 30 odd people said they wanted them, I had 10 made and sold 7 of them on ebay cos only 3 people came up with the cash!

Right, I will keep you all up to date on this thread, I gave him a set of switches this morning (Thursday) and we'll see shortly. I think ?30 including insured postage will be a realistic price for standard, unengraved UNLESS i sell more than 10 sets, in which case the price may go down slightly.

The whole idea is to have a few sets made, not loads to sell on EBAY.
I prefer the idea that they will be a little "special" and a little "exclusive" ...not like M3 mirrors or speedlines!!!!

valvercorsa, the same guy who made the ones that are on your yellow car is making thesefor me, but I have deliberately asked him to make them different to yours, as I want mine to be different.

well mine dont work anyways there just for show as all the dash has been changed to the mk2 and the blower holes have been fibre glassed over,
only the windscreen ones work.
