You will need a steering wheel puller, really.

yeh i've done a few, u can try just pulling on the steering wheel, keep pulling from different areas or u'l bend the wheel and be carefull of face and nose

best thing to do i found was to grab the wheel at quarter to 3 and shake it like feck.

Use the tool or you risk collapsing a plastic bolt inside the column and it will be fecked forever!

hi mate!!! All you need to do is loosen the nut off the steering column ,leave it on the last 3/4 threads on the column ,And put a 17/19 mm socket on a extension bar give it a few ie 2/3 quick taps and it should pop off ive done it at least 20 times on different novas always worked for me . And never bust a column yet, also try putting one hand either side of the steering wheel (underside) and tapping it towards you :thumb:

If you are really struggling you can get a proper puller for about a tenner, I made my own and it pops a steering wheel off in about 10 seconds, no bust nose and no hitting the wheel, just turn the bolt in the middle and off it comes.

This (http://www.tooled-up.com/Product.asp?PID=15251&Referrer=Froogle) ones a bit more expensive, but I'm sure I've seen them for less,

If it doesnt come off after a few firm taps then it is much easier to just go buy the tool for ?12 and it will pop off in seconds, as for getting a steering boss off i just made up my own puller using an old pair of screw clamps. A threaded bar and a block of metal with the correct size hole tapped through it will do the trick, tighten the thread and the block pushes the boss off. simple really

Thanks for the help lads. I'll go and try it and with a bit of luck it'll work.
