Hi lads!!!! Nearly ready for putting in my valver, and was wondering, my engine is out of a early gte 16v ie 1990 an its going into a k reg nova 1992 which origionaly had a cat on it .Will i need a cat or not for m.o.t as the 16V engine did not have one. I HAVE THE 16V LOG BOOK IF THIS HELPS
No you dont need a cat.
You might need to show the tester the logbook for the 16v engine tho, to prove the car its from was registered before cat rules.

I've just changed the details on mine, you just fill out the 'changes to current vehicle' section on the registration certificate, all you'll need to change is 'cylinder capacity' and 'engine number' then just sign & date it and stick it in the post !!
Think it took about about 10 days for mine to come back.
