i have t40s and having a few probs with them.im running the 1.3sr dizzy but i read in the post's ppl use 1.4sr.wots differnce?
Im not sure what the difference is.
But i think you NEED the 1.4SR dizzy/coil.
What problems are you having?

i think the dizzy is ok.might just have blocked slow jets?it dont back off quick enough.its not dragging air manifold is sealed right as is carbs to manifold
Do you get a spark?
Sounds like the carbs are a bit old and could do with a clean and rebuild if things are getting jammed and not moving.

carbs are jetted to suit my engine 1.6 8v
I had em on my 1.4 luxe, didnt change the dizzy, hope that helps. my mate also had them on his GSi & he didnt either, which is very weird from what Ive been told.
If you keep with a injection engine dizzy, you will loose a lot of power, as there will be no timing advance.
It will run tho.
The 1.4 luxe is the same as a 1.4Sr engine, if its a carb 1.4.
Yeah I thought the luxe was the same as the sr.
As for the GSi, it ran really well-Probably just luck-as that car was a bag of luck! dunno how it passed its MOT each year! lol
