MOT question

My spare wheel well has been cut out, The boot hasnt been welded, but the covering plate aint moving anyway? is that MOT passable, it has a false floor from the inside n when I removed it thats how I knew it wasnt welded.

I would say that it needs to be fixed in place. Welded, sealant and bolts. Either should be acceptable.

dont know whats been used but its a good clean job, just couldnt see the welds n wondered if it would be a problem

I live on a narrowboat & know that whenever theres visible metal work there has to be visible welds for the safety certificate.

Hi mate!!! My boot well has been cut out and a plate welded from the inside.It has got a false floor in, so you cannot see the welds anyway, but ive never had a problem with it on a m.o.t hope this helps... Also mate it can be bolted down as its not a structure point on the car
