No, the digidash needs it to convert the signal.

i am currently bidding on a digi dash and the seller describes the listing with having the speedo cable, all plugs (white and black 1's) in the rear of the dash he says he knows nothing about a transponder, could someone check the following link for me and confirm in this is what im after to run my xe? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4625488212&sspagename=ADME:L:RTQ:UK:1

ther are that many types of transducers for the digi dash that its best if you get the one for the actually dash ,

on the other hand some 1.2spi ones will run , certain dashes aswell not to sure on which code they are though
