does ne1 know the best way 2 flush the tailgate? some people sed 2 weld a piece of metal all the way along the tailgate and smooth the plate in!!! Surely it would look odd! thanx 4 the help

Personally welding is the best way.
weld a plate in just below the surface, just small tack welds tho or you might distort the bootlid, then fill with a mix of fibreglass and filler, more fibreglass than filler, grind it to shape then smooth with filler.
I've done a few of these and this seems to be the best way for me.

forgot to mention i weld the plate in the recess and not over the full bootlid, it looks neater!!!!!!
