Good luck or Bad?

I was driving around tonight normally when I needed to do a 3 point turn so i start turning and when I get on full right lock and move forward slightly I hear a sort of pop noise so I carry on and after about 10metres my car falls down to the right hand side and makes a bang noise.

So I get out and have a look to see that my wheel/tyre is on right lock and the car has fallen onto the tyre bending my wing upwards, when I look underneath I can see that the lug on the bottom ball joint has snapped clean across! :mad:

Had to lock the car up and leave it there for tonight Ill take some pics tomorrow and post them up.

But was it good or bad it snapped while I was doing like 5mph could have been very bad if it had snapped at speed!

i would say thats good luck, could have been very nasty if you were goin at some speed

deffinetly good luck, my wheel fell off when i was doing about 2mph, i had been doing 100 5 mins before tho

seems to be a few wheels falling off lately.. do yer nuts up lol
as for the snapped balljoint. in this instance its good luck to have something that critical to fail at slow speeds :)

I had a similarly lucky incident when the servo assist for the brakes broke on ours while I was reversing up the driveway. 3 minutes prior I'd been travelling through the town centre a bit more quickly than I should and braking late.

was it in a nova? because i saw a mk1 astra gte parked up at the side of the road near swansea yesterday was there all day long. didnt seem to good. nice car tho

Yeah in my Nova mate happened about 9:30 last night in the rain :( .

Changed the bottom ball joint this morning and its okay now the wing is still a little bent but I can fix that,

I phoned the highways 1 oclock this afternoon and it was filled in by 3! Lucky I got the pictures and with a measuring tape in the pics the hole was 5 inches deep!

you didnt mention anything about a pot hole in your first post?? confused me big time about you measuring a hole and was 5 inches deep and hope they're paying out?! (sure you didnt anyway and i read it twice)

Im in the Rhondda not swansea, lol looks like I totally forgot to mention it in the first place I was most probibly most pissed off with my car being left away from my house all night and the fact the front drivers side of it was virtualy sitting on the floor!:)
