t40s an alternator tensioner

the tensioner that goes fom the inlet manifold to the alternator is now too short as i have fitted an alternator lowering bracket so i could fit the t40s .do you just have to weld part of another bracket to it to make it longer or can i get a longer one off another car that will fit straight on ?

There is a longer one off another vauxhall that fits, but I can't remember what it's off, or you can cut and weld an extension in using some flat bar.

Im pretty sure its a mk2 cav 2ltr 8v alternator bracket you want mate.There longer than the nova ones. Dont get one off a 16v cav there different hope this helps. Or just do what phil says that works

is 2 L 8valve astra an cav the same engine ?
can i use one off a 1.6 cav or is that different ?

i am off 2 scrappy tmoz to get one are all 2 litre 8 valve engines the same ?cos if they are i can get one from cav .astra gte .or calibra ?are there any others that are 2 litre 8 valve
