Evening all,

Just a quick one, are all nova alternators the same fittings? Mines not really pushing enough power back due to corrosion (sp) and general age. I was thinking of putting one in from a 1.7TD if it will go straight in.

Edit* It's a 1L

Cheers

Cheers guys,

Just out of interest do you still find your headlights dimming at idle with the larger alt?

Have you got an engine size and year for that one so the lmf can find it for me?

Cheers sir

I just asked for a '98 1.8 sport alternator at the local reconditioners. The lights dont dim at all, but I have got an astra TD battery in there.

Thank you sir, i've already got a fairly heavy duty battery in there i think that it just needs the alt to sort it out.

cheers

Could be worth upgrading the alt to block and gearbox to body earth cables at the same time too.

That's exactly what i was thinking, roughly about 4 guage (sp) should do the job.

Mikey,

Any chance you could get the part number of your alt?

Sorry to be a pain

Latest vauxhall part No. I can find for it is 90443930, Bosch type, Ident PQ, listed on epc for all 1.8 and 2.0 mk3 astra's.
