View Full Version : easiest way to change the clutch on a 1.2

hi,
i have a 1.2 that needs a clutch change, i have the clutch kit already, just wondering what the easiest way to go about it is?

follow the haynes manual. but if its a 5sp then you need to take the end casing off rather than undo a mythical bung that the manual shows.

ok, cheers for that been looking at it this evening. will attempt it this weekend. for some reason tho, the clutch access panel is missing, are these redily available secondhand or are they always sold with the gearbox?

Lol, so the panel is just gone?
Weird seeing as its held on by about 6 ish bolts.

Just go a scrappy and rip one off another box ;)

Ye, the clutch is pretty straightforward, you might need to make a few tools tho to do a few things, like remove the input shaft.
You'll also need a 12spline key iirc for the bolt in the end of the input shaft.

Haynes covers the whole procedure fully :)
