Hi guys spent all day trying to fit some 17's on my nova today its been lowered 40m on g-max kit and its 2 litre so its even lower! But heres the problem the wheels are et 39 off set - not ideal i no and so they are catching on the outer arch even though ive removed the arch lip. So do you recon if i got 4mm machined off the wheels it would be ok? ie not rub?

hi mate you need to get at least 6mm machined off each wheel that would make it a et 45 offset also the wheels need to be 7j width no more if the wheels are 7.5j sell them because they wont fit in a million yrs i had a set of 17s on my nova lowered 40mm on a full apex kit and never had a problem they were a 45 offset and 7j with 205/40/17 tires hope this helps

I just asked my mate who is a CNC machinist and he said that should be fine, just as long as you use propper alloy wheel bolts to be a more snug fit with the alloy wheel bolt holes and not the standard vauxhall wheelbolts.
You might be ok with about 4mm machined off, but anymore and you will start to weaken the rim.
If it were me, id get some proper fitment wheels.
