Took my clocks off 2day to fit a new lens on it coz mine was totally s*rewed.

I had to take off the smaller guages to clean certain areas and I kinda droped the fuel guage

Anyway, I put the binnacle back in and im pretty sure I didnt have that much fuel in my car, so I think its reading totally wrong. Its sayin i got 3/4 full when Im pretty sure I only got a tenner's worth.

what can be done to get it to read correctly? its still working moving up and down when ignition is switched on, but its in the wrong position.

Otherwise, anybody got one of them lying around. I'll buy it off ya :)

Cheers

I did put a fiver in there to see what happens. it did move but its reading way over what i have in the car.

Im thinking it possibly the needle skipped position

I'll get a pic of the dials for ya in full.

Cheers

If not a tad less

that looks about a fivers worth to me. Nova fuel guages are **** anyway because of the shape of the tank, half a tank is actually indicated at just under the 3/4 mark.

stick a fuel can in the boot with a fivers worth of fuel in it, and then see if the dial goes down as it should, then at least if you run out you wont be stuck.

Yeh i know the fuel guages are naf on the novas espesially when cornering lol but i dunno how i gained another 10 quid of fuel overnight. Unless I had a visit from the fuel fairy :D

Mite go look for my old 1.2 clocks see what they read. I know that that was working fine when i took it out. And if there is a difference I will take the pin off and put it in position.

When i've been sitting in traffic i've noticed my fuel guage go upto about 3/4 when it was on 1/4, and then it slowly went back down to 1/4 again,Lol.

I only usually keep 1/4 tank in mine, less weight to pull lol

Mines not that bad but yeh it does rise when stationary and goes down when cornering. I only usually keep a 1/4 tank too. Seem to get better mpg when theres less fuel in it :D

Think I fixed the guage. Managed to find my 1.2 clocks plugged them in. They were showing just above the red compared to half a tank on the other guage.

I then plugged the GTE clocks in waited till the guage reached its level took the pin off and relocated it according to the 1.2 clocks.

Now both clocks read the same level of fuel.
