i would try and find a 1.4sr or better camshaft.
The 1.4spi is going to be rubbish and the sri cam is designed for Injectoin use and has different characteristics to a Carburrated equivalent.
iv got a gte cam but im also looking on ebay....
the sri head is fine as it is.. if your not getting an uprated cam then there is NAFF ALL point in getting the head ported etc.
ok cheers, what bhp do u reckon i wud get with the 40s, head, gte cam and sportex manifold? is there anything else that works well with t 40s performance wise? thanks
On a good day you might get about 95-100 ish bhp.
With a decent cam, something like a 285-300 Kent/Piper you should see around 105 ish bhp.
Hmmm seems ok i guess, but what kinda power do you reckon if it was a 1.6 because iv found someone now who can change engines for pretty cheap, if its a lot more then i could well be thinking of an engine swap!! cheers

A GTE/GSI 1.6 will be 100bhp to start with, adding 40's and a cam could see it around 125.
