if your disabled they will probably buy the car an insure it for you.

Do you want a VW? I can get u a car through the motability scheme if your disability is eligable/documented. Email or PM me for further info.

You can gat a Polo with no deposit at the mo or a golf with ?99 deposit on a 3 year contract.

my mate has got a disability with his arms and they paid for his car and about 4000 worth of stuff to adapt it for his needs. dunno about the driving at 16 thing though

anyone can drive at 16 if u have a robin reliant that doesnt have a reverse and doesnt go over 30 mph.
So any 16 yo takers? I think not. Id rather wait a yr than lose all my friends in one fowl swoop.

No disrespect to anyone disabled, but why?

Disabled drivers are as capable as non disabled drivers! Surely its a bit like letting people with athletes foot buy fags at 15 instead of 16?

Are disabled people more responsible than non disabled people? probably not.
Do disabled people have better road awareness and car control? probably not.

Id be interested to know the reasons behind it. If its a 'getting around' issue, i believe people with disabilities have a much better transport system than joe bloggs anyway?

I think that you'll find that it is an extension of the motorbike rule.

A lad round my way is taking lessons at 16 and failing his test miserably every time. The council have bought him and insured a new Corsa C. I think its only a 1.0 tho. I wouldn't imagine they'd give you a budget to buy a mint ?2000 secondhand GTE or anything.
