woz out pulling the front wings..lights ...bumper....grill etc off there 2nite just as it woz gettin dark......

i got round 2 the passenger side...and underneath the front wing there...just covering where the bumper mounting bolts would be........is a tank of some description.....

looks pretty much like a water squirting bottle or the like.......

i couldnt really see where the pipes were leadin off it a sit woz dark and i have no jack ...but woz wondering...wot is it??????????wots in it??????...and how is it mounted on


i've never seen 1 on any nova i've been at b4 so i aint sure wot it is

Its a carbon cansiter. Only late novas have them.
Basically it vents fuel fumes back into the inlet to be burnt, instead of venting them into the atmosphere iirc.

Its connected to the fuel tank, brake vaccum hose etc iirc.
And ye, its on the passenger side inner wing.

It could be an active-carbon cannister (something to do with fuel vapours), but afaik they're normally mounted behind the drivers side wing near the A pillar?

You dont need it no, i was going to remove mine, but the securing nut looked knackered and rusty, so i couldn't be bothered wrestle with all the pipes etc going to it, so i left it,Lol.

exactly that.............but i needed it off 2 remove the bumper........


woz a bit of a bollox 2bh but i got it off.and as usual 1 of the bumper bolts snapped off aswell......

i dont really see woty the we tank does.......2 of the pipes were actually that dosed they were broke right through......

a well its off for now anyway

One pipe goes to the brake servo hose, so if you leave the hoses hanging, you will have a vaccum leak.

You dont need remove the whole bumper rails to remove the bumper, just unbolt the bar from the rails, and leave the crossmember rail bolts.
