cracked my thermostat housing on saturday after doing a rebuild, how annoying.......

when i started up it was leaking because thermostat rubber is all hard and not making a flush seal, so tighened harder and crack.

picking one up from a scrappy 2moro for free :-)

but was thinking the thermostat rubber bit will probably be fcuked on that too. was considering leaving it out...

would this be stupid (will i not have hot air etc, will engine not get to right temp etc etc..)

anyway i thought most nova thermos were stuck open anyway.......

If you buy a new thermstat you get a new sealing rubber free

Its probably best to get a new one esp for the cold months - during the summer its fine to run without a thermostat - you just have to wait a little longer for the engine to reach optimum operating temp before pushing the engine, but you'll have constant cooling circulation.
