Urgent : Over Revving Help Needed

As above got a 1.2i mk 2 and its totally over reving and being real bad, starts and sounds like firing on 3 then konks out re starts and and sounds normal i start to drive and its fine, dump the clutch and it revs almost to the point where its on the limiter, the injector is spraying but not consistantly when im drining it bogs down and trys to stall, i have the original air box on and all vacum tubes on, so if anyone can help you have no idea how handy it will be,

id try a new SPI unit (the carb looking part that houses the injector) AKA throttle body

try a new one. id say trail and error

Sounds like you have a bad air leak.
Throttle cable is moving freely isn't it?

Does it calm down and fall back to normal idle speed eventually, or does it rev fully and stick there?

when it warms up eventually it calms down but sometimes completly sticks and i turn the engine off and re start and still fools around, its rather annoyin, its like being in a race car but for once not on purpose

Remove the ICV from the front of the throttle body.
Clean it out and refit it.

I dont see the ICV causing it to rev that high tho.

i did'nt think the 1.2 spi had an ICV, atleast not in the same sense as the bigger MPi 16v engines.
learn something new everyday

Its not a valve like MPi 16v engines.
Its just a motor with a plunger on.
But people just call it a ICV anyway.
