Ive just bought a nova 1.2 k reg spin and am looking into putting speedlines on the car and lowering it. This is the second nova i have owned, on the first i had a 60mm drop on 195/45/15 monzas and the car was fine even with 5 people in, im just wondering whether i would get away with 60mm if my new car is on 195/40/16 speedlines as all the novas ive seen on these wheels seem to have only been lowered 40mm. Also would i need any arch work doing to accomadate these wheels. Which do you people think looks better on speedlines 60 - 40 mm drop!?! cheers andy.

60mm is fine,

You might have to grind/roll the arch lip slightly.
I'd doubt they will fit 100% without rubbing the lip sometimes with standard arches.

Ive had the speedlines & 15" Monzas (et49) on a GSi & the speedlines didnt take up any more noticeable width. You say 40 profile on the 16"? Unnecessary I reckon unless you really do have the cash. 45 is the norm.

I had plenty of clearance with either on -45mm drop.

Depends a lot on the car too.
They could rub on one car and be fine on another.

My et49 15s catch the arch lip occasionally.

cheers guys now all i need to do is get the wheels and the drop onto the car. Would you suggest if am going for a 60mm drop to change the dampers etc aswell as ive been told a drop that low will ruin the standard shock absorbers.cheers andy!

uprated shocks is always a gd idea but it all depends one what you can afford

i would put a full kit on as the standard shocks are most likely to be worn out

Mine rub on the inside top and the outer lip with a 60mm drop, have ground the lip back but they still rub even with nobody in the back, guess every car is different. Also catch on the skirts and pop them off sometimes.

Yep.
You will probably notice that usually one side has more clearence between the lip and the wheel, because of movement in the rear beam etc.
