I'm sick of my Suburu bonnet scoop not sitting flush on the bonnet, so I have decided to get myself a spare bonnet and modify it, I want to blend my scoop into the bonnet so that its smooth. Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this. I have a fair idea of how to do it but I dont want it to crack or split when I slam the bonnet down.

Does anyone know how to do this or how bodyshops do it ???

goto halfords and get the bumper filler

its flexable, so itll bend nicely...

use rivets first fella to hold it in place, then fibreglass the edges, coz fibreglass is slightly flexible and filla isnt,

then fill it and sand smooth.

dont just use stikaflex or flex filler coz 9 out of 10 times at high speed in the rain itll crack.

first stick the vent in place with seam sealer, allow to dry properly.
key the vent around the edges with 80 grit and take a grinder to the bonnet around the vent, this keys the bonnet to take the fibreglass. cover with a generous helping of fibreglass then grind to shape when dry.
apply qaulity filler, not isopon its no good, then shape with 80 grit paper.
when your finally happy take all 80 marks out with 240 wet and your ready for primer.

its not gauranteed to not crack! you just have to be carefull.
