the only way to know for sure would be to do a spot test, bleacha small hidden area of it and see if it goes yellow, if it does, bleach it again and see if it goes white.
The only problem with bleaching fabric is trying to get it evenly coloured.
The name is misleading - I am not wise, or wooden.

Get a load of tip-ex :D
Seriously....do as wisewood says...it's the only way to be sure what will happen.
Just do it on a spot that won't show in case it bodges.

Or use emulsion Mr bean style, take ur seats out, mask of windows/dash/trim etc then put a can of paint in there with some explosives light-shut door-run boom white carpet
lol
p.s. to test this find a car theif and get them to hold the paint tin while you light it ( just to see how far the paint goes and if it's the right colour)
lol

The best thing to do is invest a bit of money! A cream or white interior looks mint on a nova! espechally if your paint is a darkish colour! The cram carpet for you car would cost you about ?25-?30 and about 2 hours to fit it properly.;)

I had a cream carpet in my first Nova....but then again, all the inside was cream. (with a brown dash!)
That's A-reg Novas for ya...what where the other colours? oh yes....frog green (yum!), brown (even yummier), and what was the other...oh yes, rust orange (:O)
Here's the spec and pics of my first Nova:

thats not the propper brown dash like i had in my merit though rich...
that dash was really mingin dark brown... in fact i still got it round the back somewhere... still with the shoddy blaupunkt speakers in it, unless some Maltby scally has done a runner with it.

It depends on the interior colour though Andy...there was a darker brown dash (as seen in the very early SR's for example), but my dash in my first Nova was originally that mid-brown colour that's along the top.
I painted the black and cream sections on it.
