Has anyone heard/seen/got bike carbs on their 20xe engine? was looking through practical performance car and saw an artical for a kit for around ?300 quid and they recon on making the same power as twin 45's!
any info would be great!

bogg brothers apparently do this conversion, look on migweb, theres a few on there.altiss engineering can do the manifolds

yeah it was bogg bro's in ppc but was wandering power outputs and are they any good for an everyday car? cheers

yeah,as they can be rejetted like any other set of carbs. they have less restriction usually than car carbs too! and stay set longer too!go for carbs from a 750cc or bigger superbike (usually 38-42mm) as they are good for this application

I was speaking to dave bogg about this back in january, he reckons they're a lot easier to set up than webers/dellortos, mainly because they dont "dump" fuel in via an acceleration jet when the throttles are opened like car carbs do, they just let the air flow through the venturi suck up the fuel it needs instead.

yeh most bikes use a sidedraft carb thats a hell of alot easier to get running right ..... if its easy enough to get some one to make a manifold for them then go for it
search on google for altiss enginering. the bloke knows what he doing.
would they be possible to fit on a nova 8v engine then?

Rang bogg bro's 2day and they qouted me around ?400 quid for a complete kit (carbs, manifold, regulator and cables) power should be about the same as fitting twin 45's but don't go out of tune so much with better drivability, rolling road set up after fittment is about ?60 quid.
But as i live in the southwest where could i get them set up as bogg bro's are near manchester?

And yes they can make manifolds for 8v engines aswell
for the record properly setup webers/dellortoes DONT go out of tune.
but don't go out of tune so much with better drivability,
sorry i agree with stu and beg to differ as i own proof lol, and yes we are talking years without a tune, backed up with performance stats from pod and many seeing/being in it at track events :D
