Tailgate Problem?

Ive had my tailgate smoothed last weekend, well the vinyl that the lad put on looks the part but me (daft ****) used a pressure washer to wash ma car and the line where it joins the paint at the top has peeled away, ive stuck it back down for now but it,s left a slight ripple, im gonna use on ov them heat guns to get rid ov the ripple but is there anything i can do to stop the vinyl cummin away at the top? if there's no easy solution then ill end up spraying the little strip at the top black and overlapping on to the vinyl but i dont really wanna start spraying????

we used to use womens clear nail varnish to do jobs like that after a few washes it blends in perfect only use a little though! ;)

Honest, i actually thought ov that but i thought it would show up, how little are we talking and wats the best way to apply it?
