What is the difference if anything between a Swirl Pot and a Surge tank?

A swirl pot is like a small reserve of fuel.
So under heavy cornering when the fuel in the tank all moves to one side, theres still fuel available to the pump, so the engine carries on running.

Not sure what a surge tank is.
