Newbie with Questions

Hi, im new just brought a nova as a run around for a bit. I went to look at it today and it had a 1.6 carb engine. did any novas come with this standard as i thought the nova gte engine was injection. the guy said the engine may of been from a cav or astra. any idea on the power of these engines and if theres any difference in them (over than the injection part) to the nova 1.6 engine?

As far as I understand it, the GTE engine was carbs, and the GSI was injection. As for the astra/cav bit, I've seen the same design in my dad's old mkII astra and a cav we pulled some parts off in a scrappie, as in mum's nova.

the gte and gsi were both injection. I don't know what the carb engine is from tho sorry.

all the 1.6 novas are mpi not carn its an sv engine i think there not as powerful as the gte/gsi engines

any idea on their power. and would they be the same with a twin 40 setup on?

the 1.6 sv is basically the 1.4sr engine but wit a bit more capacity and slightly more torque/power but not much more!!!!

even T40'ing the 16sv wont get it to the same kind of power etc that the mpi would do.
