i went for me driving test in bury and started the test was driving perfect for all of the test untill i come to a crossing and started turning right and this nob head in a red ****ty escort come screaming out of nowhwere so i had to slam on the brake but the driving test person touched the pedals on his side aswell and when we got back to the test center he said i have failed because he touched the pedals ... which is perthetic and gues what i only got 2 miner faults all the way thraugh the test so now i have to rebook which will cost me another 80quid hopfully i will not have this happen on me second test soon iwill be driving hopfully

I failed for even more pathetic reasons than that on my first test.

Good luck for next time tho.

I couldn't complete (did'nt fail) my first test, because the clip holding the cylinder thats connected to the gearstick broke, so the car was stuck in 4th. All I had to do was parallel park and drive 500 yards back to the test centre.

The car was a BSM corsa with about 3k miles on the clock.

If you were at a crossing I'm assuming you were stopped... why did you have to slam on the brakes? You can't have been going that fast to require anything more than a quick touch?

That sucks... did you have to pay for a retest?

Must suck to fail when it wasn't your fault really. Instructor probably didn't trust you to stop I guess. ;) Good luck for test #2 :thumb:

After the first year of driving you realise how the government road & fuel taxes screw you over, not to mention expensive insurance and f***in speed cameras everywhere.

But good luck next time round.

i think i agree with ianial and stuart on this one some test drivers dont trust u to stop and they go ahead and tap the pedals which ruins some parts of the test maybe think about changing test drivers so they aint got used to u doing things maybe thatll help.and stuart your right there mate it was only 35 quid for a test if its 80 pounds or more now i think ill be driving with my bird in the passenger seat then its better then cos i dont have to pay for some insurance cos i can drive with her in the car lmao

No the test was void. BSM paid for the retest and got it put in quickly (abotu a week and a half I think, the wait was around 3 weeks at the time).

A note to anyone who fails: When you hand your licence papers to the instructor, hand it over in a clear plastic A4 wallet with cash in and ask him if you can 'buy a ticket to the driving testers ball'

What happens if one of those cars' doors opened whilst you were driving past?

Crunch.

Heard a rumour a while ago that a certain amount of people get failed/passed just to even out statistics. Wouldn't surprise me if that was true

have to admit though, dont think i could be a driving instructor, the amount of learner cars ive been stuck behind and thought to myself, why do they let them on the road straight away!?!? Id be using the dual controls every 5 mins lol.

Tis fact, my step dad is a tester and they are 'asked' to be more strict when the number of passee's for the month has gone past the target. Is a bit of a joke if you ask me, but on the other hand there are far too many cars on the road these days, getting anywhere in a reasonable time is impossible, especially down here on the M4 corridor. I work in west sussex a lot, and if i leave 15mins later than normal in the morning, it can add up to an hour and a half to the total journey!!

I rekon old people should have re tests, nearly every near miss ive had has involved a dozy old bat or fart who cant see over the steering wheel wearing glasses like the bottom of beer bottles! Id love to see them do the hazard awareness safety test!

Absolutely, I'd want to know if I'd turned into a gash driver by the time I was 65. I would hate to have killed someone through my bad driving on my conscience.
Anyway, good luck with the test mate!

That happened to a mate of mine, failed for doing 28 in a 30 zone, albeit a dual carriageway.

I failed mine first time for not making an attempt to keep to the speed limit when entering a 60mph road, only one other minor fault aswell. I wouldn't have been so pissed of with it if wasn't for the fact that the local retards had turned the sign around, so that I saw a 30 going into the 60 zone and the people entering the 30 zone read 60. *******s!
